Heirloom is the venture of experienced duo Zar and Elena Brooks; who have previously founded Dandelion Vineyards and Zonte’s Footsteps. With an aim of preserving the unique old vineyards of South Australia, championing the best clones of each variety and embracing organic and biodynamic practices, the wines from Heirloom consistently impress.
The 2023 Heirloom Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir was produced from their best Adelaide Hills Vineyard in Macclesfield. Plenty of care is taken throughout the winemaking process; hand-tended vines, sorted bunch by bunch, naturally open fermented, basket pressed, 50% whole bunch, stored in 25% new French oak barriques for 9 months.
A typically aromatic Adelaide Hills Pinot, notes of strawberry, summer berries, cherries leap out of the glass, with a touch of forest floor and fresh herbs. A soft yet textural Pinot Noir, this has layers of strawberry, cherry, rhurarb and plum like flavours on a savoury and well-balanced palate. Another high quality Pinot Noir from Heirloom that will have wide appeal.
